It is hard to believe that the kids are 6 months old already! The time has really flown by in the blink of an eye. People always ask me what our life is like…Well, quite frankly, it’s perfect! The kids are happy and healthy. And as an added bonus, they are sleeping through the night now (which keeps me happy and healthy)!
Both sets of Grandparents and my Mommom were able to come visit this month. It was great to spend time with our parents and Mimi and for them to bond with the babies. It was also a great opportunity for Seth and I to take advantage of some free babysitting! Thanks to our parents and Mimi, we were able to go out for a date night, run some errands together and meet up with some friends.
Just after Christmas, we gave up our old three hour schedule and adopted a new four hour schedule. It took a little while to adjust, but now we are all much happier with the new schedule. The kids are down to just 4 bottles, two naps and a snooze in the stroller each day. They are also eating solid foods – and loving it! Right now we are just eating rice cereal, but we will be starting vegetables next week.
So what else is going on with these kids? Well, it seems like there is something new every day. The playroom is often filled with the sound of happy squeals, giggles, and babies blowing raspberries. The kids have started to notice each other and are definitely noticing each other’s toys. Ben in particular always wants whatever toy Grace is playing with. They are all rolling both ways now. All are sitting (or at least trying too). Ben and Grace love to pull Jake’s hair. They are both lucky that their own hair is too short to pull. The tooth fairy hasn’t visited our house yet, but, judging from the amount of drool coming out of these kids, I can’t imagine that teething will be far off.
We went to the doctor for the 6-month well visit this week. Below are the latest stats on each of the kids:
