The Chislets are 3 weeks old!
Jaclyn and I can barely believe how fast the time is flying. The Chislets turned 3 weeks old this past Wednesday and we had our second pediatrician’s appointment on Friday morning. We were only 5 minutes late and only 2 of the 3 kids urinated on the medical staff. . .so all and all it was a very successful appointment!
All of the kids are growing up fast:
- Ben, our big man, is weighing in at 8 lb. and is measuring 20.75 inches long

- Jake, the flirt, is weighing in at 7 lb. 3 oz. and is measuring 19.25 inches long

- Grace, the princess, is weighing in at 6 lb. 2.4 oz. and is measuring 18.75 inches long

The kids have all begun holding their own heads up and the boys even rolled their heads over during tummy time this past week. The Chislets are also beginning to become aware of each other – Ben has been pulled out of the shared crib a few times for clubbing his brother with an arm!

Well it’s official….the kids outnumber the adults at our house now. On Tuesday Jaclyn and both boys were released from the hospital. Little Gracie followed 2 days later on Thursday. Here is a picture of the Chislets all decked out on the boys’ release day (thanks to Aunt Jen for the cute shirts):
We have been enjoying and surviving the past couple of days. Lots of late night feedings and more diaper changes than a small daycare, but it is good to have all the kids here at home with us.
We also had our first official family outing today: the kids first pediatrician appointment. We left for the appointment over an hour early and still managed to be late! These kids (and all their stuff) sure do slow us down:
Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the past week:
We have plenty more pictures of the past few weeks on our Chislet Photo Collection on Flickr.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on how Ben, Jake and Grace are doing. After an exciting first day, they have been admitted into the Special Care nursery in order to gain some extra weight and regulate their body temperatures. This is very common in new triplets as they are often born a bit early. They are extremely healthy and are referred to as “feeders & growers” as they need to pack on a few extra pounds. Since Wednesday they have been able to maintain their body temperatures without assistance and have been moved into a single crib together (this is called co-bedding). According to the consent we had to sign, one funny risk associated with co-bedding is confusion of the triplets — we’re not too worried about confusing the Chislets…they are each developing very distinct personalities.
Mom (Jaclyn) is also doing good. She is up and walking around, and steals a cuddle with the kids whenever she gets the chance! We also wanted to thank everyone for the outpouring of congratulations and prayers!
